| The General Aviation Cessna 172 Skyhawk |

It appears the most popular playing in general aviation in the history of mankind is the Cessna 172 Skyhawk. Over 35,000 have been sold and you can find these aircraft in airports around the world. Cessna aircraft Corporation has a proud history in general aviation and has become the largest general aviation aircraft manufacture in history.
Why has the Cessna 172 sold so many? Well, because generally people learn how to fly in a Cessna 150 and then they wish to take their family or friends and the Cessna 172 is a logical progression, as it holds for people and is not very expensive or complex to fly. The Cessna 172 also gets very good fuel economy and although it does not hold very much it is quite a bit cheaper than the next upgraded model the Cessna 182.
You can ask any general aviation Private pilot if they have flown a Cessna 172 and there is a 90% chance that the answer will be yes because so many flight schools have them for rent along with many flying clubs. Many private pilots who end up buying their own aircraft she was a Cessna 172 because of its simplicity and availability. It is doubtful that any other aircraft will ever surpass the Cessna 172 as the most popular aircraft in general aviation of all times.
If you are considering buying an aircraft of your own a Cessna 172 will surely be on your list and although it may not end up your first choice the availability of used aircraft for sale makes the Cessna 172 Skyhawk a possible option. Please consider all this in 2006. |

| Sport Pilot Training Certification |

"Sport Pilot" used to mean any pilot who flew any type of aircraft for sport, with or without training or license. But the United States Federal Aviation Administration (or FAA) has recently redefined the term "sport pilot" to be applied to the new light sport aircraft airmen's certificate for which training and a certain amount of solo flying time are required.
Light sport aircrafts include parachutes for parasailing, hang gliders, and trikes -- in other words, aircraft that rely on their human sport pilot's physical power, athletic ability and expertise rather than a mechanical engine, which the aircraft may or may not have. They are also easy to transport by car or truck, and expensive hangars aren't necessary.
Those who wish to become sport pilots find that flying light sport aircraft are safe and affordable and that the necessary training is quick and easy. After learning the techniques and dynamics of being airborne from a qualified flight instruction school such as takeoff, turning and landing you can be flying solo and progress to longer and higher flights in just a few days. There are many sport pilot training or club organizations around the world to assist you and help you find friends to fly with.
Although there is relatively low risk involved with flying most light sport aircraft, safety is of the utmost importance to the sport pilot. A good training program will have instilled in a prospective sports pilot the habit of properly preparing and exercising good judgment, especially in terms of the weather conditions that he or she will be flying in. The most important decision you as a sport pilot will start with is what type of flying fits your lifestyle and what type of aircraft will do it for you. The next is finding a certified training program to meet your needs. |

| US Navy Hurricane Chasers |

During hurricane season we sure here a lot about the United States Air Force's Hurricane Hunters, which go out and measure the force of the winds and the pressure within the eye-wall of the Hurricane. This tells off its strength. It must be pretty ballsy to go out and fly through a hurricane but that is exactly what the hurricane hunters do.
Having hurricane hunters makes sense indeed, but why not have the United States Navy also joined in the fun and call them the hurricane chasers. The hurricane chasers would be a small battle group including an aircraft carrier, which would come in behind hurricane and then be near shore or after hurricane passed over.
This means while all the roads and power is out the United States Navy could launch the immediate rescue efforts. Therefore assisting FEMA with command and control assets launched from offshore. If we're going to fight a war; let's have a war on hurricanes.
By coming in behind the Hurricane the US Navy can be in literally as the last Tropical Storm Force winds move onshore and this means quicker rescue and potentially saving many lives. The US Navy can be first on the scene and set up the rescue efforts with a safe platform and command center on the sea. It is a smart idea and I want to see a team of Hurricane Chasers put under the command of my United States Navy. Consider this in 2006. |
